Thinkpad T61 BSOD Error on PC Doctor

If you have found that running PC Doctor diagnostic to check whether it is BSOD error or not, it showed failed 3 tests:

Hard Drive: SMART extended self-test FAILED
Hard Drive: Surface scan test FAILED
SMBIOS: SMBIOS: standards test FAILED

Then you might have a problem on your hard drive. To resolve this issue, try following these steps:

  1. Make sure the HDD is the first boot priority on your BIOS. This can be changed by going to "BIOS and select “hard drive”. Move the hard drive to the first boot position by using F6 key.
  2. Reboot your T61 machine after saving the setup. If you still have the same failed tests on PC Doctor, change your T61 setting to “original factory settings” on ThinkVantage process.

If after following these steps you still have the 3 failed test like above, it means your T61 hard drive is on the verge of dying, so before it does, better to save your data and get a new one.
