Sony PlayStation 3 will never be able to play PS2 games. This has come to conclusion after director of hardware marketing from Sony, John Koller said, “PS2 backwards compatibility “is not coming back, so let me put that on the table” to Ars Technica. He implied again soon after reaffirming, “that won’t be returning.” This is a sad news, considering that some people that have bought PS3 expected to play their ‘old’ games from the era of PS2.

Many people considering this is a good news, because they bought the PS3 to play the newest games and Blu-ray movies, not the old games they used to play. So we won’t be seeing backward compatibility on PS3 for sure.
