Pentax Optio W90 Rugged Digital Camera

Why would anyone want a rugged digital camera? For those of you who likes to travel a lot and in difficult terrain indeed need one. Pentax Imaging Company has launched its latest Pentax Optio W90, a rugged, adventure-proof, waterproof, shockproof, dustproof and coldproof aiming for adventure photography users including Digital Microscope mode with LED lighting to capture the smallest macro objects as close as 1 cm from this camera.

Pentax Optio W90 offers features for adventurers, such as waterproof to 20 feet, shockproof to 4 feet, and coldproof to sub-freezing temperatures and dustproof, 12.1 MP image sensor with 5x optical zoom, 2.7-inch LCD monitor, Advanced Pixel Track Shake Reduction for sharper images on the move, 720p HD video recording at 30fps with HDMI support.

A unique autofocus assist lamp helps the camera quickly and accurately focus in dim light, but don’t expect it to focus fast enough from a pocket camera. It also includes face detection, smile capture, blink detection, pet recognition technology.

Pentax Optio W90 is available in two colors: Black or Pistachio Green color and is going to hit the market in April 2010 for $330.
