Network Controller Not Working on Thinkpad T41

Lenovo Thinkpad T41 laptop comes with original Windows XP Pro OS installed. But when you have a problem appearing on Windows hardware wizard, the fact that network controller is not working, making it tries to install many drivers from the laptop drivers download page but nothing seems to work. The first problem came from the laptop which always tries to install network controller in Windows hardware wizard. This issue came because your T41 was shipped from the factory as wireless upgradeable without a wireless card. It might be confusing to find the perfect driver for it, but you can try the following steps:

  1. Take a look at under the palm rest to see if a card is present
  2. Take a note FRU number you found there
  3. Once you have the FRU number, take a visit Lenovo site here
  4. Enter the FRU number in the search field at the top there

After hitting the execute button, one of the links you find there will be the driver for the T41 card. Hope it works.
