Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 Local Access Only and Can’t Connect Internet Fix

When connecting to the internet using wireless router on your Lenovo IdeaPad Y550, you might can’t connect or just having local access only. Going through Internet Connection Wizard doesn’t resolve the issue, because the internet still inaccessible. Setting Vista to automatically connect to the router, reconnect manually also comes with the same results: not being able to connect to the internet.

This may be networking problem, and you are going to need to upgrade the linksys router firmware. After upgrading you should be able to make Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 connect to the internet. If you want to use the automatically connect function and not wanting to connect manually each time the machine restarts, you’ll need to change the static DNS with these addresses:

  • 4.2.2.2
  • 4.2.2.4

And then just restart the router. If none of these solutions work for you, be sure to check for firewall problem and check if the routers IP range allowed to have access.
