Hewlett-Packard has announced their new digital camcorder with 5MP and 1080 full HD video recording, HP V5560u. This camcorder might be suitable for your traveling and family recording session needs.

HP V5560u camcorder comes with 3-inch touchscreen LCD display and 5x optical zoom. Not very large optical zoom, but you can take pictures with 5MP sensor and get ful HD recording at 1920×1080 and 30fps when recording video. It offers 32MB internal memory and SD/SDHC expansion slot which you can stuff up to 16GB in total storage. HP V5560u camcorder is available for $169.

I have this camera, the field of view is so narrow as to be almost useless for indoor video. I tried to use it for a recent birthday party, but always cut off peoples heads as the unit “feels” like it is zoomed in all the time.
As a result, I’m selling the unit cheap… to make matters worse, HP doesn’t even have changeable lenses, so no wide-angle option is available. Too bad.
