HP Slate 500 Tablet PC Review

HP Slate 500 tablet PC is another netbook you can choose if you don’t have the budget to get the highly popular iPad. This tablet comes with 1.5pound chassis, 8.9-inch display which runs the latest OS from Microsoft, Windows 7 Professional. Another thing you can consider buying is the fast 1.6GHz processor and 2GB RAM. The 64GB internal HDD storage is more than enough, if that is not enough, you can expand it with a SD card.

The 500 tablet pc is going to cost you around $799. You will get a dock, portfolio cover and also a digital pen in order to avoid scratches on the touchscreen tablet. It is only available in HP website and HP sales units. With price comparable to iPad, this is going to be a tough competitor to iPad with Windows based OS.

The tablet PC is a good subtitute to a traditional notebook which you can carry around and not having to type on a heavy keyboard.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t have good battery management like ASUS which comes with 10 hours battery life. In my opinion, 800 bucks is quite expensive for a tablet PC compared to 64GB iPad with the same cost.

Bottom line, if you are a Windows 7 fans and want to run Windows program for your work instead of using Apple iPad’s which often have limited programs and portability or Android pads which has gained popularity over the time, buy HP Slate 500.
