Pavilion DV2700 XP Audio Driver

Audio problem in XP can be resolved by using Conexant SmartAudio 221 as the audio device. Follow the solution below to get your audio working:

  1. Download the sound driver here
  2. Extract the file you have downloaded to a folder
  3. Now go to Device Manager, right click on “Audio Device on High Def Bus”
  4. Choose Update Driver
  5. Select No
  6. Choose Install from a list or specific location
  7. Click Don’t Search, I will choose the driver to install
  8. Select “Show All Device” for Hardware Type
  9. Uncheck the “Show Compatible Hardware” and click on “Have Disk”
  10. Click Next
  11. Browse to the extracted folder
  12. Choose WiSVHe5.inf
  13. Click Ignore if message box appear
  14. Restart your machine

After restarting your machine, you should have audio device on High Definition Audio Bus work properly in your XP OS.
