HP & Compaq are going to release new mini laptops this week, named HP Mini 311 and Compaq Mini 311c. Surprisingly, both laptops eventhough build with different maker, have the same specs.
The laptop is based on NVIDIA ION Platform, comes with 11.6-inch widescreen display and powered with 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270. Also equipped with 160GB Hard drive, 1GB RAM memory, webcam, 5-in-1 card reader, WiFi support, Bluetooth, ethernet card, and HDMI support for better presentation.
Both laptops is going to be available for $500.

The ION platform is rivaled by Intel’s CULV system and AMD’s soon-coming-out Ultrathin Platform aka Congo platform.
It looks good so far, as NVidia is preparing to release 9M series GPU which gives more performance and power, while trying to keep power consumption relatively low.
