How to Install Sound Audio Driver for Lenovo G550 on Windows XP

Some Lenovo G550 users are having trouble on installing audio drivers on Windows XP. They reported that although Lenovo has provided XP audio drivers, but it simply doesn’t work. For your information, Lenovo G550 can surely run Vista or Windows 7 fine. But if you got XP SP2 running on your laptop, you might want to install KB888111 first. If you already have SP3, you might also need to install the driver for yourself. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Download the audio driver here (255 MB)
  2. Navigate to Device Manager
  3. Choose “Update driver” for audio device
  4. Then choose “I’ll load driver manually”.
  5. Show all drivers, and have a disk.
  6. Go to unpacked Audio driver folder where it located.
  7. Choose an *.inf-file that contains description audio card.

Remember to restart your machine after successful installation.
