Install OS X from Disk Image Guide

Here goes the following steps to get your Lenovo S10 boot OS X:

  1. Connect your external USB DVD drive to IdeaPad S10
  2. Put MSIWindOSX.iso DVD you have previously burnt into the drive
  3. Switch on your laptop and make it boot from USB DVD drive
  4. Once it is booting, wait for a minute and you will see some text being run
  5. Once you see Apple OS X setup dialog box and the Welcome screen appears, select menu Utilities > Disk Utility
  6. Select the HDD you want to install OS X
  7. Create a new partition onto the new fresh hard disk
  8. After a new partition has been created, exit Disk Utility
  9. Go back to Setup and Continue the installation
  10. After the setup completed, your netbook will restart and you will see OS X welcome and initial setup screen

If you don’t get the OSX welcome screen, you might having trouble on the installation and have to bypass the setup. You can do that by following these steps:

  1. Turn on your IdeaPad S10 netbook
  2. Boot OS X with the “-s” option
  3. Type the following commands on the screen:

    2
    
    /sbin/fsck -fy
    /sbin/mount -uw /
  4. Change directory to the following location by typing:
    cd /Volumes//var/db
  5. Create an empty “.AppleSetupDone” file by typing:
    touch .AppleSetupDone
  6. Create your root password by typing:
    passwd
  7. Select exit.

After this, you can log in as root using the password you have created and also using the root password to create a new user.
