Here are the following step you can do to connect your netbook to TV:

  1. Go to Control Panel on your HP notebook and click on Display menu. You can also right click on the desktop and click Properties.
  2. Click Settings Tab – You should see two squares/rectangles representing monitors/displays.
  3. Click on the one with “2″ and check the box near the bottom that says “Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor”.
  4. Set the proper resolution for your HD TV, you need to make sure that the max resolution you set is in the VGA card support. Check the manual if in doubt. Eventhough the HP mini can display up to 2048×1536 pixel, that is the maximum resolution. Use the resolution of TV, or simply test it using lower resolution first.
  5. Check to see if the TV input is set to PC. Click “Apply” and see if there is anything on the screen.
  6. Set the resolution setting if nothing appears, might be out of range of your HD TV. Or check the cable by plugging out and in again and test it.
