Windows Vista SP2 on Thinkpad T61p can cause hibernation problems, such as power drain in hybernation mode. Although not only on Lenovo T61 this problem occurs, but most laptop users are reporting battery drain while on hibernation. If you want to stop the power drain on hibernation mode, there is one solution you can take.
Try removing power line from your Thinkpad T61 before hibernating the laptop. If you forget doing that, remove the battery for a few seconds after hibernated. If you have connection to Internet, Microsoft has issued a Vista hot fix to stop this power draining. You might want to run your Windows Update to get that.
