It’s getting annoying when you get shutdown instead of hibernation mode on your Thinkpad T400 laptop. The system seemed go hibernating as there is hibernate progress bar visible, but the system was actually shutting down. But the error surely came after downgrading OS to XP, SP3 or even BIOS update. To fix this issue, you can try to rollback the ATI display driver with your old driver. Usually this would resolve the issue on crashing with hibernation/sleep mode. If this doesn’t work, update your laptop drivers.
