HDMI Problem No Signal When Connecting TV from Thinkpad SL500 (Resolved)

HDMI output is used when connecting Thinkpad SL500 to HD TV. If you are having problem with no signal, but there is sound heard, you shouldn’t be panicked. It seems that SL500 laptop recognized the HDMI device, but then if you heard another sound indicate that the device is disconnected.

HDMI Problems Fix

One problem with easy fix is changing the resolution which is within the HD TV and the laptop range. You should consult your manual and decide which resolution works better. You should try resolutions such as 1024×768, 1360×720, 1366×768 or 1920×1080. Choose the right one which is displayed on the TV and keep those settings. How to Connect Laptop to TV

  1. Connect the HDMI cable between the laptop and TV.
  2. Press FN + F7 key on your keyboard. You should see there are two litte monitors or computer icon on top of the key.
  3. The key works by toggling it. By pressing it, you will cycle the display options shown to you.
