Hard Drive Temperature Monitoring using S.M.A.R.T

S.M.A.R.T hard drives are capable of monitoring all of your hard disk activities. One feature that is crucial enough is to monitor temperature when it is running. There is a simple tool to get the value from your hard drive using S.M.A.R.T functions.  Hard Drive Temperature Monitoring using S.M.A.R.T

First, you will need to install hddtemp tools. This is a simple tool to monitor hard drives, especially the temperature when it is running. Please check their software release to see whether it is going to work on your computer or not, since most people reported that they works completely fine.

After you have successfully installed hddtemp to your computer, you can run “sudo hddtemp /dev/xxx” or “sudo hddtemp /dev/yyy” and so on into the console (without quotes) to get the hard drive temperature right away. It should display some useful information on the console
