Fix Sony VAIO Unknown Device on Windows 7

Got Sony VAIO and suddenly after installation of Windows 7, you get error of unknown device and are no longer can use Wireless device? Most base system device on Sony VAIO is Ricoh or Texas instrument card reader, or conexant. You can use Vista or XP drivers from Sony site and use Compatibility mode to install the driver in Compatibility Mode.

Other workaround is get the hardware ID first, which you can get by following these steps:

  1. Right click on the devices.
  2. Click properties and hit details tab
  3. Drop down menu and looks for the hardware ID (first on list)
  4. Copy and Paste that hardware ID’s and now you can easy to find working drivers for your Sony VAIO laptop.
