The culprit of media button problem and hotkey for eject DVD is mostly caused by Quickset. All you have to do to resolve this problem is by installing Windows 7 Quickset. We recommend that you do a fresh installation to avoid another issue on your media button problem.

If installing Quickset software don’t resolve eject button problem, then you should check for the drive letter of ISO mounting software on your Dell XPS 1640. If you have the software installed, be sure to check that it is not the first optical drive in the letter order, because the eject key will eject the first optical drive on operating system, but not check whether it is a physical drive or just a virtual drive.
