This problem occur when Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop doesn’t show welcome screen and other problems such as hard drive fan stopped working, or shows a blinking cursor in the top left hand corner.
If you are having these issue: no Dell Screen, no Welcome Screen, or failed fan working and then stopping, you can try resetting BIOS to default by removing CMOS battery.
CMOS battery is a rechargeable battery that is installed in the laptop. It is used to store computer base information.
Resetting the BIOS can be done by taking the CMOS battery out and discharge it for several minutes. After that, install it back into Inspiron 5150. Once you have done this, the BIOS will now accessible and you can reset the BIOS configuration there.
