Playing games without sound would be no fun, especially when you have built-in subwoofer on your Asus G73JH laptop. This problem was experienced by one of the owner of the model. Crashes during games were unavoidable. As a result of frustration, he decided to uninstall the Creative SoundBlaster software from the laptop.
However, another problem came up. The volume in the front speaker and the subwoofer weren’t working. The taskbar area on his Asus G73JH laptop desktop leaves two speaker icons: 2 sliders of sound volume: stereo speakers and subwoofer. The function keys to have shortcuts, especially Fn+F11, F12, F10 were only active for those speakers, but not the subwoofer.
Update drivers from Realtek doesn’t help, and going to Creative web page to seek for answer is a useless approach. Luckily, there has been a solution for this problem lying on the web. Another G73JH user recommends that Tone Generator Software Download to be installed in order to make subwoofer directly connected to the stereo speakers. For the default Realtek driver, leave it with enhancements disabled in Windows audio settings.
