You put the disc in and the program automatically runs. After a while it just doing the loading green circle that you have to terminate it by force to stop it running. You might have gotten a message, “Unable to detect a DVD or a DVD device on your computer.â€Â
If you have found your DVD driver and the title of the Blu-Ray disc you inserted listed on the computer, then MediaDirect 4.0 is the strongest culprit.
Troubleshooting Tips
The problem might also lies on the blu-ray disc. If it’s the new one, you just have a problem. Some newer blu-ray discs require firmware and/or software updates to play. Unfortunately, there hasn’t one of the updates work for MediaDirect 4, so eventhough it does support the playback of blu-ray discs (assuming you have blu-ray drive), it might not playback the very latest ones.
If you have a copy of PowerDVD or other similar application that can play blu-ray discs in Windows, you might want to try them out and see if it works without firmware update.
