If you are trying to downgrade HP Pavilion dv4 notebook to Windows XP OS, you might want to get compatible drivers to make devices on your laptop working. You can download the laptop drivers below.
Windows XP Drivers for HP Pavilion DV4xxx Notebook
Before downloading these drivers, make sure you install SATA drivers first. You can use an external USB floppy drive and then press F6 when on Windows XP installation. If you don’t have external floppy, use Nlite slipstreaming. A guide has been created for your convenience here.
If your notebook comes with Intel Processor, use ICH9 SATA driver you can download here (located in iaAHCI.inf and labelled ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller). On the other hand, if your laptop comes with AMD processor, use AMD SATA driver (download here).
Important Notes on NLite:
- In Nlite, choose the option of insert -> multiple driver folder
- Select x86 driver for AMD SATA AHCI when asked.
- Don’t choose x64 driver when asked
After that, download and install MS-UAA driver first (link here).
Install MS-UAA Driver Before (download from here). This will let you install Intel video graphics, Audio Driver, Modem Driver, New Nvidia drivers (185.85) also required MS-UAA for HDMI driver.
