Connecting Dell Latitude E6400 by using DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is another way to connect laptop to LCD TV. But when the TV said that there is no HDMI device connected, you might having an issue in your laptop drivers and monitor configuration.

First of all, have you installed the latest NVIDIA drivers? If you haven’t, try to download (for Windows 7 and Vista) and install it.
After you have successfully installed the latest VGA drivers, use NVIDIA Control Panel and make the LCD TV the secondary display. Once you have done this, some options on the panel will be available. To make it works, please follow these steps:
- Power on LCD TV
- Go to NVIDIA Control Panel
- Select Display on the panel
- Choose Setup Multiple Display
- Look for a link under the white box “My display is not shown…” and click on it.
Now check whether your E6400 laptop to TV via HDMI is properly connected.
