iDriver is an application that allows you to remotely control a car with your iPhone. Freie Universität Berlin and Appirion developed the first iPhone app called iDriver to remotely control the “Spirit of Berlinâ€Â, the autonomous car of the university.
Unfortunately, this app is not available through App Store (yet) and it is used for a demonstration and research project. Watch the demo video below to find out how to remotely control a real car using iPhone. Looking from the video, the app is very simple and have control such as buttons for acceleration, brake, and steering. These commands are sent to the car via WiFi.
In the near future, we should expect this app in App Store and can be downloaded. We’ll see.
