Asus G73JH Freezing

Asus G73JH freezing problem is very annoying because it would lock up frequently until I had to use the power button to restart the laptop because using Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn’t work. The common issue when dealing with this freezing problem is when you play video streaming on the internet. Disabling hardware acceleration in flash player is not a good solution because it didn’t fix the problem. Other problem might be having to do with the registry.

First of all, make sure that you don’t install many programs on your laptop. Having too many programs will make Asus G73JH freezing over time because the registry is fully loaded with program’s entries. The registry is like a brain to Windows, where it stores everything when you install or remove programs. When you remove programs, some registry entries might left behind just like memories. When it has many unused entries, your laptop would hangs and freezes randomly.

The best solution to handle the registry lockup which causes Asus G73JH freezing is using registry cleaning tools such as CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller to remove software, registry entries and other junk files.

If registry is fixed and the laptop still freezes, you mgiht be having an issue called Asus G73JH lockup bug. To fix this problem, go to Realtek and download “High Definition Audio Codecs” where titled “Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file)” and the “ATI HDMI Audio Device”

Once you have downloaded the file, check if you have Realtek drivers and remove the old drivers to make a proper driver installation. You might want to install “ATI HDMI Audio Device” too.
