ASUS DR-950 Touchscreen e-Reader with Text-to-Speech and Internet Browser

ASUS DR-950 is a touchscreen e-reader which is going to enter the market this year to join its predecessor, DR-570 which has been released earlier. DR-950 comes with 9-inch touch screen Sipix panel with 1024×768 pixel resolution, 16-levels of gray of colors. It also features text-to-speech thanks to Svox engine which supports 26 language.

Another cool thing are: a built-in internet browser that works in landscape or portrait, a virtual keyboard and handwriting input, a RSS reader and a dictionary. The dimension of ASUS DR-950 is 222 x 161 x 9-mm and weighs only 370 gram. This handheld device also equipped with WiFi and HSPA support, 3.5-mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, 4GB internal memory and SD card expansion.

The reading device support popular ebook and audio formats such as PDF, TXT, Audible, MP3, and unprotected ePub.

    For so many years we have been listening that e-readers are coming. But still they are expensive with small user base.
