Apple iPhone dominates 46.1 percent of smartphones market in Japan, according to Impress market analysis report. Even the local Japanese brands’ smartphone devices are behind the iPhone. This proved that Apple famous in Japan, not only on US or Europe. Looks like the market love 3G iPhones, because the majority of the market is saturated with 24.6 percent 3G iPhones. The entrance of iPhone definitely bring a whole new level, since the strong player like Sharp has lost its market share to almost half to 14.6 percent.
The study discovered that iPhone is simple to use and attracts Japanese users to switch from complicated Japanese smartphones. Although it doesn’t come with 1-Seg mobile TV, i-Moe service and FeliCa contactless payment, the iPhone is proved to be more accessible and have great touch experience which helped Apple iPhone dominate the market.
