Installing VGA display driver on Windows 7 often causes problem on 64-bit version with Alienware M17 dual 3870 laptop. Looks like the drivers is not the perfect match for the laptop, since many users are reporting that Windows will automatically re-install the drivers for the graphic card as soon as the driver update is completed. Might be incompatibility problem with Windows 7.
Resolving the problem is not quite easy, but you might want to try another driver which you can download here. Hopefully, using this driver on Alienware m17 with Windows 7 RC1 64bit, all display driver issue should be fine now.
