Activate Second Core On HP Compaq NX7300 Laptop

If you are having trouble to activate second core on HP Compaq NX7300 laptop running Windows XP, you should have XP install CD and follow these steps below.

How to Activate Second Core on NX7300

NX7300 second core not active is often caused by missing required files to recognize the core, or the need to upgrade XP OS to multiprocessor HAL. Follow these steps to resolve the problem:

1. Go to Device manager
2. Choose the Computer and click on it to open it
3. Right click on ACPI Uniprocessor PC
4. Choose Update Driver
5. Don’t search for new drivers
6. After the installation, restart your machine

Another workaround to activate second core on NX7300 is by using Windows Repair. You can do this by booting the laptop from XP installation CD. Go through the steps you usually have when installing XP. When the installation finds the current installation, choose R to repair the existing installation. Follow on-screen instruction that appears to resolve the problem.

Remember to backup your data on external hard drive or DVD before running XP Installation as it might destroy your data.
